Instructions for use: Add 0.05 grams dithizone to 100 ml 95% ethanol. Not all of it will dissolve completely, but a dark green-blue solution should be obtained with stirring. This solution must be made fresh. The solution will turn varying shades of pink or red in the presence of ions of Zinc (2+), Cadmium (2+), Cobalt (2+), Lead (2+), Tin (2+), Copper (2+), Mercury (2+), Silver (1+), Gold (3+), and Palladium (2+).
